Request a GPU that is sold out

When the GPU you need has no free node in Browse Pods, file a machine request. Providers subscribed to that GPU type are e-mailed your request, and Lium e-mails you when a node that can serve it is listed — you do not have to keep refreshing the marketplace or ask in Discord who owns a node.

File a request​

  1. In the dashboard open Machine Requests (left menu) and click ADD NEW.
  2. Pick the Machine Name (the GPU model, e.g. NVIDIA B200) and the GPU Count you want to rent in one pod. CPU, RAM, storage and location are free text for providers; the alert below matches on model and GPU count.
  3. Save. The request appears in your list with a Nodes column: the nodes that have been offered for it.

What happens next​

  • Providers are told. Every provider subscribed to that GPU type gets an e-mail with your request. Your request records how many providers were told (provider_notified_count on the request in the API; 0 means nobody is subscribed to that GPU type yet). A provider can offer one of their nodes from the portal; you receive "Machine is ready based on your request" with a link to the node.
  • The marketplace is watched for you. Every 5 minutes Lium runs the Browse Pods listing for the GPU types with open requests. When a listed node can be rented for exactly your GPU count — the whole node, or a node the provider splits (storage limits supported, provider minimum at or below your count) — you get the same e-mail, linking to the cheapest match, and the matching nodes are added to your request's Nodes column.
  • At most one e-mail a day per request, and never twice about the same node. A request is watched for 30 days after you create it; after that, file a new one.
  • The e-mail goes to your account's verified address; an unverified address is never mailed. Fingerprint (no e-mail) accounts see the offered nodes in the Nodes column only.

A listed node can be rented by someone else before you open the e-mail — rent it from the link as soon as you can.

Close the request​

When you have rented what you needed, delete the request (the bin icon in its row) or mark it achieved through the API below; closed and achieved requests are never mailed.

The alert has no API of its own: it writes the offered nodes to the request, so GET /machine-requests/{id}/executors shows what was found without watching the marketplace yourself. A request without gpu_count is not matched.
