The Central Miner Server configuration allows you to choose between using Lium.io's central miner server or running your own central miner server. This feature eliminates the need for central miner CPU machines. making the mining setup process faster and more accessible.

Lium.io Central Miner Server​

Best for: Miners who want the simplest setup with minimal infrastructure management

  • Zero Setup: No need to configure or maintain your own central miner server
  • Automatic Updates: Server maintenance and updates are handled automatically

Own Central Miner Server​

Best for: Miners who want full control and customization over their infrastructure

  • Full Control: Complete control over your central miner server configuration
  • Self-Managed: Manage your own server infrastructure and updates
  • Direct Management: Direct access to server logs and monitoring

Getting Started​

Prerequisites​

Before configuring your central miner server preference:

  1. Registered Miner: You need to have a Bittensor miner coldkey and hotkey registered on subnet 51
  2. Portal Access: Be logged into the Provider Portal
  3. Profile Access: Navigate to your profile page

Configuration Steps​

  1. Access Profile Settings:

    • Find the Central Miner configuration section
    • Choose between "Lium.io Central Miner Server" or "Own Central Miner Server"

  3. Save Your Selection:

    • Confirm your choice
    • Your preference will be saved and applied immediately
Configuration Change

You can change your central miner server preference at any time from your profile page. Changes take effect immediately and will be used for all new job requests from validators.

When to Use Lium.io Central Miner Server​

Choose Lium.io's hosted service if you:
